LITTLE DELL GARDEN
Trampled and exhausted by building works, the Little Dell Garden needed lots of attention to bring it back to life. Three fruit trees at varying degrees of crookedness were the only plants that were to be nurtured and incorporated into the design. Planted borders and a brick patio were built to sweep around these existing trees, creating seclusion and interest in this small East London plot. A reclaimed prison door was inserted to break through the wall into the park beyond, neatly subverting its original purpose to confine.
