To bring life to this urban garden the clients wanted something a little playful, with a snaking path around the lawn - no dead-ends allowed!  We coupled the winding clay paver path with deep borders planted with shade tolerant species and tree ferns for a bit of drama.  A central border in place of the failing lawn housed our modern take on the rock garden using large boulders that provide shelter for wildlife and a climbing feature for children.  This border had a secondary function as a rain garden to mitigate the regular flooding the clients previously experienced.
